Congratulations to Ava on her purchase of Pippi (Pippi Longstocking)
Ava & Pippi
Pppi getting ready for her trip to Maine with former owner Bella and Ava
We would like to congratulate Ava on the purchase of her new pony. Pippi is a 14.0 hand, 7 year old, registered paint mare. The past two years Pippi was a member of the Charlotte Pony Club in Vermont, where she brought her owner , Bella, through her D-3 rating. Pippi has been a wonderful addition to our club and Ava looks forward to her first outing with Pippi to the D Rally on August 2. Good luck Ava and Pippi!
Welcome Anna and Laura!
We would like to extend a warm welcome to Anna and Laura who recently joined Mollyockett PC. Anna is currently a C-1. Her sister Laura is unrated at present and is looking forward to taking her first ratings this summer. We look forward to their knowledge and enthusiasm!

Congratulations to Taylor on her recent purchase of Khaki. Khaki is a 20 year old 14.2 Mustang cross with many Pony club miles. We are all very happy for you Taylor, and we wish you the best of luck and many fun adventures together with your new pony!!
Taylor was the only Mollyockett club member who competed at quiz this year. She and Ava were originally going to be on a scramble team but because of a snowstorm in Houlton on the originally scheduled day, the quiz was rescheduled for April. Taylor was on a scramble team with the newly formed Epona club in turner, ME. The girls had a very successful 6th place finish. Congratulations!! Caitlin, Jordan and Tracy also made the trip to Houlton as volunteers.

O'Doull is a 20 year old bay roan thoroughbred. He has had a long history of eventing which took him through the Intermediate levels at his peak. He moved to Maine four years ago to be with a young pony clubber/eventer. He suffered a serious injury which took him out of competition for some time. Ali is fortunate to find such a wonderful teacher and partner. We hope the two of you have a wonderful season together.
We were very fortunate to have Anna Welch spend a couple hours with us teaching the club members the fundamental 7 games of the Parelli Natural Horsemanship Program. These seven games mimic the seven games that horses play amongst themselves. This helps rider and horse develop a strong relationship on the ground which is then carried over into the saddle. The seven games are:
1. The Friendly game; 2. The Yo-Yo game; 3. The Porcupine game: 4. The Driving Game; 5. The Circling Game; 6. The Sideways Game and 7. The Squeeze Game.

Back: Jordan, Anna, Laura, Caitlin
This year MPC sent one team to the D-Rally at Hillview Farm in Fayette, ME. The team consisted of Laura , Taylor, Ava and Anna as their C advisor. The Rally had a good showing with 11 teams participating. This was Anna's and Taylor's first D Rally and Ava's second. The girls did a fantastic job and had a lot of fun. At the end of the day they walked away with a second in Horse Management and a 6th overall.
Also a big thanks to Emily, Jordan and Caitlin for their hard work at the rally, to Tracy for coaching, and Marie and Martha for organizing all of the paperwork and to Christie for starting thejumpers on the cross country course. It truly is a team effort.
We would also like to thank Hillview Farm for providing such a wonderful facility for the event

Horse Management Seminar 4/27/08
We had a fun and successful trip to Wild Child Farm in Pittston, ME on Sunday April 27, to attend the Horse Management Seminar hosted by Tamarack Pony Club. Parents Tracy, Sara and Christie attended to receive their training to become Horse Management Assistants during the upcoming rally season. Ava & Taylor attended with the goal of learning new Horse Management skills which will help them during their upcoming rallies. Jordan and Hannah also attended to help assist the younger members. Below are some photos from the day.

Thank you to Emily Meyer
We wanted to thank Emily Meyer for coming to our unmounted meeting. Emily is a licensed Massage Therapist. She also enjoys working with equestrians in developing core strength and alignment which has so many benefits to the comfort and performance of both horse and rider. She showed our PC members different stretches and strengthening exercises and developed a program that they will hopefully be able to practice regularly. Below are some photos from that session.

Several weeks later Emily conducted a lunge lesson for each club member. After watching the way each individual rider moved with the horse and their individual alignment, Emily developed a plan to benefit each rider while in the saddle.
